‘Explore the Eifel’ at Spangdahlem Air Base

On May 12, the event ‘Explore the Eifel’ was held for the 18th time at Spangdahlem Air Base. Its purpose is to bring soldiers, whom are stationed in Spangdahlem closer to their host region Eifel-Mosel and to encourage them to embark on discovery trips through the region. The opening ceremony was held by the commander of the 52nd Tactical Fighter Wing, Colonel Leslie Hauck, with the chairman of the Host Nation Council Spangdahlem, Jan Niewodniczanski, and the commander of the 33rd Tactical Air Wing Büchel in the presence of District Administrator Andreas Kruppert and numerous guests of honor.

At ‘Club Eifel’ on Base, numerous exhibitors had information booths, where soldiers and their families could get more details about tourist destinations. Host Nation Council Spangdahlem (registered association) also reintroduced itself with an information booth.
