Nearly 100 volunteers gathered at the fire station at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday under perfect weather conditions. After brief welcoming remarks by Christian Thurner of the Spangdahlem Airfield Environmental Department, Alois Gerten, Mayor of Spangdahlem, and our fire chief Markus Gorgeneck, participants were divided into groups, which then worked on their assigned sections.
Once the work was done, the local community and fire department invited everyone to a light snack. Our grill master, Sven Krämer, served up perfectly grilled sausages.
The nearly 100 volunteers consisted of participants from the Spangdahlem Airfield Environmental Department, the Spangdahlem Youth Group, the Spangdahlem Baby and Youth Fire Department, the active Spangdahlem Fire Department, and other volunteers from both the airfield and the local community.
