On Thursday, May 28th, a group of students from MSS11 spent their final daytogether with exchange students from Spangdahlem High School.
We set off by bus at 8:30 a.m., joining students from Spangdahlem and St.Willibrod-Gymnasium who were already on board, and headed to the reservoir in Biersdorf. Once we arrived, the first task was tracking down our exchange partners in the crowd — after that, we split into mixed groups made up of students from all three schools. Our challenge for the day: build a raft out of wooden planks and emptybarrels, then actually sail it across the reservoir. After a lot of head-scratching and hard work, every single group managed to pull it off. We then all took tothe water together and spent a solid hour and a half out on the lake — something that wouldn’t have been possible without the absolutely gorgeous weather. At 1:00 p.m., it was time for all schools to pack up, say their goodbyes, and head home.
Looking back, this was just one of three great days we shared — we also got to visit our exchange partners at their school, and they came to ours in return. All in all, this year’s exchange was an absolute success and honestly just a lot of fun.
