Host Nation Council Award

Marie Lorenz has been awarded the 2021 Host Nation Council Award.

When Marie Lorenz received her high school diploma on Friday, March 19, 2021 in the famous Salvator Basilica in Prüm, she was also presented with the Host Nation Council Award. This award recognizes Marie’s special interest in the English language, which she has shown continuously throughout her school years, especially in high school. Her work culminated in a paper on the 1960s and its impact on the Beatles’ music, particularly their song lyrics. “I find the political and social events during the 1960s extremely intriguing, and it inspired me to take a closer look at the different interpretations of the Beatles’ lyrics, ultimately highlighting their importance in politics and society,” Marie says in her introduction.

Marie has no plans to study English or linguistics, but she hopes to find a major that is offered entirely in English.

We wish you all the best, Marie. Good luck for the future.
