This very special day has been arranged by Spangdahlem Air Base once a year since 1995 for Special Children from St. Martin School in Bitburg. This year it took place on October 1, under the organization of 52 CES personnel.
App. 100 German and American children met at the Fitness Centre at 09.00 hrs. to enjoy each other and to participate together in sportive games. Naturally, everybody was a winner and received a trophy after the games.
The event ended at noon time with a typical American lunch for all, which is always a highlight for the German guests. Special Childrens Day, an unforgettable day for all, means another sign of the true friendship between the men and women of Spangdahlem Air Base and the people in this region.
Our Special Thank You goes to the large number of SAB Service Members who looked after the children with high commitment and empathy. But without the superb organization of Special Childrens Day, accomplished by 52CES personnel, this day could not have taken place. Thanks to all of you!
