Host Nation Council Spangdahlem e.V. is always delighted to support the intercultural exchange between German and American schools.
A student from St. Matthias School reports:
On February 7th and 15th, 2024, some students from St. Matthias School and St. Willibrord High School visited the high school in Spangdahlem. After the visit of the American students to the German schools had already taken place in January, everyone was now eager to get to know everyday life at the American school.
After arriving at the high school, the group was welcomed by three American students from the speech class with a presentation about their life as military brats.
This was followed by a reunion of the exchange students. Just like the visit to the German school, there was first a tour of the school, which is very different from the German school. The students then accompanied their exchange partners to class. During the lunch break, they visited the food court together.
Overall, the students rated the visit as an interesting and exciting experience that they would like to repeat.
